The Project

Bring AppVelopr to life

appvelopr is a development studio focused on helping companies building custom applications tailored to their needs at a low cost

1

Bring the brand to life

First and foremost I have to design the brand from the ground up.
This includes the brand voice, color pallets, logo and more.

2

Bring the brand to customers

Once the brand is ready to be presented it's time to show potential clients.

3

Gather feedback

After talking to potential clients it's time to take that feedback and implement it into the branding.

How Appvelopr can compete

Identify issues in the industry

Cost

Most of the clients of similar companies told me cost was huge in today's climate. Covid tech prices have left even large fortune 1 clients struggling for budget approval.

Speed

Other development agencies are promising speed-to-market but aren't able to give a timeline or an end date. This put a lot of stakeholders in a position of uncertainty with their internal teams. They need something to show for the money being spent quickly.

Clear messaging

The issue found in a lot of competitors was the lack of clarity in messaging.
"I'm not exactly sure what these other agencies do other than the work they are doing for me"

The Solutions

Cost

Keeping costs low will be the result of multiple things combined. For Appvelopr the solution was simple: offshore development teams. US based developer costs are much high than those located in Poland, India and South America

Speed

How do we get to an MVP as fast as possible without creating a subpar product? Stakeholders need to get a product in hand so they can unlock more budget. I decided to take advantage of the current technology advancements and offer clients a no-code option.

Messaging

The messaging should be simple and straight forward. Most clients looking for help aren't in the tech industry, the messaging should reflect that

The feedback:

After launching V1 of AppVelopr I gathered as much feedback as possible. What were people saying about the branding of the company?

"I like the concept but the website is too wordy. I wish it was easier to read"

“The website looks very aggressive and is intimidating”

“I like the idea of saving money but it doesn't look professional. I don't think I could trust this brand with a big project.”

Based on the feedback

The common theme from the feedback was too aggressive and too dark. I knew based on this I would need to soften up the appearance overall and give it a more corporate feel to gain trust.
